138-120628 Dutch Doctor Overnight

Rob had some free time in his schedule so he and I headed up to Dutch Doctor late yesterday afternoon.  Leah joined us later in the night.  It was a pretty muggy trip.  The shelter was already occupied with a timid middle-aged man, so Rob and I set up our hammocks adjacent to the site where the five original Core Members spent the infamous night with the 'Long Island Kids' in the shelter.  Leah slept close to where Dan S. bedded down that night.  After midnight a lightning storm began and chased Leah into the shelter.  Soon after it was followed by a brief but strong thunderstorm.

The guy in the shelter started coughing a dry, forced cough at some time during the night.  It was odd to say the least and kept me awake.  All I could think was "same location, another night with no sleep, here we go again." I did eventually get a good night's sleep.

In the morning, hungry for mileage, we opted to exit via Cladius Smith Den and the unmarked trail that connected back to White Bar.  It was a short trip, but nice to get out.
